P16 | POLITICAL AND CULTURAL CENTER

by Radwa Said Tawfik

The Main theme of the project is political aspect. Today, cites aren’t made by architects or economists but by the elected politicians from citizens. After the 25th of June, many problems appeared. One of these problems is political confusion, which represents the attitude of the majority, reflecting the lake of awareness, a delicate relation between the elector and elected people within the lake of transparency. The aim of the project is to have public services for people to be integrated with the parliament (like museums, galleries, cafes, workshops, lecture halls, a training center and so on), to have new function responsibilities as a new meaning of democracy, to activate public participation in the political practice, to make decisions, and to help people understand their power and re-structure the relation between elector and elected. The concept of the project is to enter from the administration building (entrance gate), walk through the main path, pass by several buildings with different activities and functions in order to rise up citizens’ awareness and ability to participate in decision-making and supervision. The assembly hall was represented in transparent appearance, with its interior visible to all the people.
